Blairgowrie, Rattray & District Angling Association

BRDAA – Options for Payment of Membership Fees (2025)

  • Membership cards for the 2025 season are now available for collection in Kate Fleming's shop.

  • Details of the various payment options are provided below.

  • Early payment of membership fees (ideally before 15th March) is encouraged as it allows us to gauge how many new members the Association can take in and it also helps us plan our various work activities throughout the year.

  • Last year 50% of memberships payments were made by bank transfer (BACS).  This was a great help to the Treasurer and he would like to encourage as many Members as possible to use this payment method.

  • Last year 25% of membership payments were made using the Association card reader in the Shop.  Whilst this generates less work than cash, it still creates more work then BACS payments.

  • The remaining 25% of membership payments in 2024 were made using cash.  The Treasurer would be grateful if this element could be reduced even further this year.

Payment Option 2 – By Card in Kate Fleming's

• There is a dedicated card reader for Association transactions in Kate Fleming's shop.
• Members will be able to visit the shop and use this card machine to pay their membership fees.
• On payment of the membership fee, Kate's will update their membership spreadsheet to show that the card
has been paid for and collected.
• If the member's card is not ready for collection when payment is made using the card reader, the member
should sign the shop membership spreadsheet to record that payment has been made.

Payment Option 3 – By Posting a Cheque to the Association Treasurer

• Membership payments can be made by posting a cheque (with a short covering letter) to the Treasurer at
Knowehead Cottage, Bendochy, Blairgowrie, Perthshire, PH13 9HU.
• Membership cards will not be issued until the cheque has cleared the banking process.
• The Association will email the member when the funds have been received, and will also notify Kate
Fleming's that the card can be made ready for collection by the member (or their nominee).
• Kate's will update their membership spreadsheet to show that the card has been paid for and collected.

Payment Option 4 (Least Preferred Method) – With Cash in Kate Fleming's

• If none of the other options above are suitable, members can still opt to pay their membership fees with
cash at Kate Fleming's.
• However, this option creates additional work for both the Shop and the Association and should be
considered as a last resort.
• On payment of the membership fee, Kate's will update their membership spreadsheet to show that the card
has been paid for and collected
