2003 onward |
Angler numbers fishing the Rattray Bank increased
after BRDAA gained permission to create a car park.
This trend continued, and as fewer anglers fished
from the Blairgowrie side so paths became overgrown
limiting access, with more anglers fishing the
Rattray Bank and consequently decreasing returns for
the Blairgowrie bank. |

BRDAA introduced advisory salmon conservation
guidelines from the TDSFB . |

BRDAA no longer have access to Rattray bank and can
only fish from Blairgowrie Bank. |

Advice and Guidance to Anglers (2015 Season) |

Anglers are advised that although Association
members and guests no longer enjoy fishing rights on
the Rattray Bank, the effect on fish catches should
be limited. The Association is currently progressing
with riverbank clearance work to improve access to
pools from Blairgowrie Bridge down to the end of the
beat at Kitty Swansons bridge. As we "share" the
river with the syndicate owners guests on the
opposite bank, we ask all BRDAA members and guests
to show courtesy to fellow anglers whilst fishing
the river. We remind anglers that traditionally they
may wade to halfway across the water to cast to the
opposite bank but casting into their own bank from
the middle of the river is not permitted. |
